Rock hopping involves students following a river gorge up stream by moving from rock to rock,
wading and walking along the river bank. It is done at Bogong in the west branch of the Kiewa
River and in the Rocky Valley Stream. Swimming in water holes and sliding down wet rocks on
route adds to the excitement. Students wear helmets and suitable footwear. It is conducted in
the warmer periods of the year.
