These sessions look at the ecology of the area and incorporate classroom presentations and student practical work on the land use issues, history, flora, fauna, climate, water and geology associated with the Alpine and Sub Alpine environment.
Bogong After-Dark (evening session)
Discovering the nightlife of Bogong Village through a night walk and in the replica Cattlemen's Hut via an interactive slide presentation or an environmental auction involving the Bogong High Plains user groups.
Bogong's Backyard (half day session)
A session where students explore the local Bogong area. Students have the opportunity to immerse their senses through a variety of activities which may involve:
crawling through a wombat hole
a blindfolded sensory trail
ID a tree & hug a tree
exploring predator/prey relationships
discovering what 'critters' live in Lake Guy
searching for the longest blue gum leaf
learning about the adaptions of alpine plants and animals
