Zero3 : Alpine Sustainable Living Education Community
Interpretive Centre Alongside the conference facility, an interpretive centre will dramatically cantilever off the mountain slope into the forest treetops. This centre will house an exciting visitor experience with a variety of interpretive displays including hands-on, models, videos and computer interactive exhibits.
The base of the conference centre and interpretive centre will be constructed from local rock. The green roofs on the accommodation wings planted with mountain wild flowers and mountain eucalyptus trees will be inserted between buildings and around the site to harmonize the site with the surrounding alpine forest.
Performance outputs from the embedded energy and water technologies will be displayed throughout the complex to highlight 'buildings that facilitate learning'. The design is deliberately bold and adventurous to create a memorable experience and a lasting impression to encourage a change in beliefs towards a 'switched on' attitude. We have the ability to act now.
